Nat Geo puts on Plimsoll live again
US cablenet National Geographic has commissioned a third live natural history series from UK indie Plimsoll Productions, this time set in Alaska.
Alaska Live will focus on the work of scientists in the Alaskan wilderness, studying bears, wolves, whales, eagles and other species.
It follows Plimsoll’s previous live series for Nat Geo, Earth Live and Yellowstone Live.
The new show will broadcast from the Kenai Fjords National Park, Prince William Sound, Katmai National Park, Bristol Bay and Tongass National Forest. It will uncover the threats the animals face and examine their survival skills.
Using more than 25 cameras and 180 crew members, Alaska Live will premiere in 2020. Its executive producers are James Smith, Martha Holmes, Grant Mansfield and Andrew Jackson.
Plimsoll Productions is currently producing season two of Yellowstone Live, based in Yellowstone National Park in the US. It will premiere on Nat Geo this summer.
