Until recently, Paddy was deputy CEO of Private Equity Company, LDC, responsible for an investment portfolio worth £2.7 billion. Paddy’s job has involved sitting as a non-executive director on more than 30 boards. During Paddy’s career at LDC, which spanned 29 years, the company grew to be one of the leading players in the UK and more unusually combined its investment activities across the country with a substantial commitment to community projects through charitable activities.
CEO and Founder
Grant Mansfield is the Chief Executive and Founder of Plimsoll Productions. Before launching the company in September 2013 he spent 3 years in LA as CEO of Zodiak USA where his credits include Secret Millionaire, Celebrity Wife Swap, Hard Core Pawn, Lizard Lick Towing and Killer Karaoke. Previously, as Managing Director of RDF, based in London, credits included Ladette to Lady, Holiday Showdown, Oz and James Big Wine Adventure, Gene Simmons Rock School and Dickinson’s Real Deal. Before that, as Head of Programmes at Granada TV, Mansfield was responsible for the launch of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
He began his TV career at the BBC, first as a TV news reporter and latterly as the creator and producer of some of the Corporation’s most popular documentary series, including Driving School and long-running Vets in Practice.
At Plimsoll, Mansfield has created/executive produced many of the company’s shows including the ITV primetime hit Davina McCall: Life at the Extreme, Yellowstone Live (for National Geographic), Rescue Dog to Super Dog (for Channel 4 and Animal Planet USA), The Story of Cats (for ITV and PBS) and the upcoming landmark series Hostile Planet (for National Geographic). His shows have won several BAFTA and RTS awards.
Mansfield is a Board member, and Governor, of the University of the West of England and was recently voted the Daily Telegraph’s Business Leader of the year.
Chief Operating Officer & Co Founder
As Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Plimsoll Productions, Christine is integral to the company’s strategic and commercial planning. She works closely with the CEO to ensure both production and business needs are met and oversees all production and commercial deals for the company.
Christine has a wealth of knowledge having run TV production and commercial businesses over many years. She started her career at the BBC working in live television on shows such as Blue Peter and Going Live! Since then Christine has overseen many award-winning productions and has worked as Managing Director & Head of Production at other independent TV companies in the UK, including RDF, overseeing hit shows such as Dickinson’s Real Deal; Oz & James Big Wine Adventure and Perfect Housewives.
Finance and Commercial Director
As Finance and Commercial Director at Plimsoll, Jonathan takes the lead on all financial matters at Plimsoll. He also has a key focus on maximising commercial opportunities that arise from the creation of multi-platform content. Jonathan has 20 years of strategic, operational and financial experience in the media & entertainment industry, with a career that spans Television, Music and Live Events. Prior to Plimsoll he spent 6 Years at DRG, the UK’s largest Independent International TV Distributor. As Chief Operating Officer, he acted as business partner to the CEO, adding rigor to strategic decisions, devising and implementing growth objectives, identifying risks and opportunities, then taking the lead managing performance. He was later appointed Group Managing Director, leading DRG through a successful sale process. Jonathan has held senior roles at BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 and Ingenious Media, an investment house specializing in Media and Entertainment. During his time at Ingenious, he advised Investee companies both pre and post private equity funding.
LDC, National Head of New Business
Andy has overall responsibility for new business at LDC and he plays an integral role in the delivery of LDC’s pledge to invest £1.2billion over the next three years. He is also a member of the LDC Investment Committee and Executive Committee.
With more than 23 years’ experience, he is focused on identifying ambitious management teams that would benefit from private equity investment and ensuring they have a strategic partner that can help them to deliver their growth ambitions.
Andy joined LDC in 2008 and since then, he has led some of the firm’s most successful investment partnerships and supported businesses across a variety of sectors. This has included supporting the growth of woodland holiday provider Forest Holidays, lifestyle brand Joules and global beauty products group Original Additions. He also continues to support the businesses LDC has invested in and sits on the board of Addo Food Group and Forest Holidays.
After graduating from Sheffield University, Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and spent 15 years as a Corporate Finance Adviser with both Deloitte and PwC, where he specialised in private equity backed transactions.
LDC, Non-Executive Director
Andy is an experienced private equity investor and Non-Executive Director.
He was previously Senior Director at LDC, Lloyds Banking Group’s private equity arm, where he completed a number of high-profile transactions across the firm’s regional network. This included partnerships with Plimsoll Productions, Evolution Funding, SMH Fleet Solutions, ADEY, The NEC Group, ATCORE, Stuart Turner, A-Gas, Aqualisa, Eley Group and Kee Safety. During the firm’s long-term partnership with Kee Safety, Andy supported a significant growth drive which included establishing a strong global presence with operations in 10 countries, including the USA and China. Kee Safety now supplies its products across more than 60 countries worldwide.
Andy has experience in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, specialist engineering and financial services, and was named Dealmaker of the Year at both the 2017 and 2015 Midlands Insider Dealmakers Awards.
Prior to joining LDC, he spent six years within PwC’s Corporate Finance department after graduating with a first-class Accountancy and Finance degree and qualifying as a chartered accountant with PwC in Birmingham.
LDC, Head of Region, South West & Wales
Dewi is responsible for leading LDC’s teams across the South West and Wales, and ensuring the firm continues to support the growth ambitions of businesses based there.
He is a highly experienced mid-market and private equity deal specialist. Since joining LDC in 2016, he has co-led the £80m deal with Plimsoll Productions and led the investments in outdoor adventure business Zip World and IT services company Vista Retail Support to accelerate its expansion and fund new acquisitions.
After graduating from Bristol University, Welsh-speaker Dewi qualified as a chartered accountant at EY in Cardiff before joining its Lead Advisory / Mergers and Acquisitions team in 1998. He then went on to lead Deloitte’s Corporate Finance Advisory business in Wales, as well as its UK and global building products sector and regional markets initiative.
Since joining LDC in 2016, he has co-led the £80m deal with Plimsoll Productions, has led the investments in outdoor adventure business Zip World and IT services company Vista Support and has supported LDC’s partnership with ADEY, the leading water treatment provider.
