Steve Nicholls is a multi-award-winning show runner and director of science and natural history shows, with more than 30 years’ experience. He is most well known for his innovative film-making — pioneering new visual styles and new ways of telling stories. He spent 10 years with the BBC Natural History Unit, working on ground-breaking, award winning series like Lifesense and producing the highly successful Alien Empire series for BBC1. Since leaving the BBC, he has worked on many high-profile projects for a wide variety of broadcasters including PBS, Discovery, National Geographic and Smithsonian Networks. His series Nature Tech won an Emmy for specialist cinematography. He was series director on the revolutionary series, The Future is Wild, which on first transmission was Animal Planet’s largest ever audience to date. Steve is also an accomplished, award-winning natural history stills photographer and writer.
